Joseph Cullinane, author of The Cuckoo & The Pilgrim has very kindly gave us permission to serialise his book on SpanishSteps.eu.
Joe’s book is a record of a walk along the Camino De Santiago in France and Spain and could it be used as a rough guide by anyone wishing to follow this medieval pilgrim route.
It is also for the general reader who is interested in experiencing a countryside; the sights and sounds of nature; chance encounters on the road; ancient villages; anecdotes; bits of history and all that goes with following a pilgrim route at a medieval pace.
Over the next week or so we will be printing selected extracts starting today.

For the last 7 years I have had the pleasure of walking the many routes of the Camino de Santiago to Santiago de Compostela with my Dad and my good friend Joseph Cullinane. That’s them in the logo along the top of the page.
Over the years Joe has been an avid writer, jotting down his thoughts and gathering all sorts of information along the way.
